Nothing is more important for your on line safety than having a secure web browser and email client. Internet Explorer and Outlook/Outlook Express cannot possibly begin to protect you from the bad guys. Therefore, I suggest you use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and use Thunderbird instead of Outlook/OE. Google Pack has quite a few great packages that will make your computing experience easier and more fun. Please visit the extensions site for great addons to Firefox. At least get Adblock and Flashblock. You will hardly believe how nice web pages look without all the flashing ads that Internet Explorer lets through. Opera is also a very nice and secure browser. It is not as fully featured as Firefox and has some really annoying bugs, but it is slightly more secure.

If you cannot see the Firefox or Google Pack ads, that means that you already have adblocking in place on your computer. If you need to download Firefox, turn off the adblocking temporarily until you finish the install.
